Why Dogs Love This Stay

What To Expect

Set on a working cattle station in the Pilbara, Cheela Plains Station Stay offers dog-friendly camping between Karijini National Park and the Ningaloo Coast.

Dogs are welcome at the station’s campground, provided they remain on a lead. The main campground has unpowered sites arranged around grassed areas, with access to potable water, hot showers, toilets, laundry facilities and a communal camp kitchen. Some sites offer shade, and the campground is accessible to conventional vehicles.

Dogs are not permitted inside the station’s rooms or other built accommodation. Because 1080 poison baits are used on the property, owners should keep dogs close and consider using a muzzle when exploring areas such as Beasley River Gorge.

Cheela Plains operates seasonally for tourists, with the 2026 season running from 1 April to 7 October.
