What To Expect
Pine Country Caravan Park is one of those places where bringing the dog does not feel like an awkward add-on. There are three dedicated dog-friendly cabins where well-behaved, house-trained dogs can stay inside, each with its own enclosed yard, water bowl and outdoor kennel. Campers also have access to a dog-friendly powered site with a small fenced grassed area, although there is only one, so booking early matters.
The real highlight is the park’s one-acre off-lead dog paddock, open from dawn to dusk and large enough for a proper run rather than a quick lap around a tiny enclosure. Dogs are welcome year-round, and regular powered, ensuite and unpowered sites also allow pets in guests’ own accommodation.
There are secure daytime kennels too, which can be booked in six-hour shifts when you are heading somewhere dogs cannot join, such as local caves, national parks or wineries. Dogs need to be comfortable being left alone, and the service is unavailable during peak periods and extreme weather.
A particularly strong Mount Gambier base for travellers who want secure dog-friendly accommodation, plenty of off-lead space and a practical option for dog-free day trips.
