What To Expect

Tucked away inside the lush Eddie Kornhauser Recreational Reserve, Tallebudgera Dog Island is one of the Gold Coast’s most unique off-leash experiences - a whole island where dogs can roam free, swim, and test their skills on agility equipment.

Surrounded by tidal ponds and connected to the mainland by two land bridges, this unfenced off-leash haven is packed with natural shade, open grassy fields, tiny beach coves, and a dedicated agility course. You’ll find ramps, pipes, and balance beams for dogs who love a challenge, or just plenty of space to zoom, sniff, and splash.

It’s a favourite with locals for its peaceful, community vibe and expansive layout that means no one ever feels crowded. There’s plenty of seating scattered throughout, water stations for pups, and poo bags supplied by the council - though don’t expect coffee or snacks on-site, so BYO if you’re planning to stay a while.
