Port Melbourne Dog Beach is a popular dog-friendly beach near the city. It’s a relatively small beach in comparison to others, and there’s pedestrian and bicycle traffic on adjacent paths.
Despite its small size, Port Melbourne Dog Beach is a great place for dogs to get some exercise and socialise, especially if you live nearby.
The beach itself is well maintained, with plenty of parking nearby. There are also several amenities available nearby such as bathrooms, dog-friendly cafes, and kiosk facilities.
Please note that different rules apply depending on the time of year:
1 April to 31 October: Dogs are allowed on sand area.
1 November to 31 March: Dogs are allowed on sand between Port Melbourne Yacht Club and Lagoon Pier. Dogs are not allowed to go anywhere else on Port Melbourne Beach.
